Preworkout salad

[FONT=&quot]read in a book i have about building muscle that i got a while ago that eating a salad with the right veggies along with your protein shake is good for a pre workout meal... i tried it (im a big guy so i use a large salad, mostly spinach) and i feel pretty good while i am working out and seem to have more energy. anyone else ever try this?[/FONT]
 
that's a pile of bullshit cookie cutter garbage

having said that if you must eat something pre workout then green leafy SOFT veggies and watery fruits are your 2 best options. something like kale is a bad idea, very tough to digest. same goes for whey protein which is an awful idea before a workout
 
Yeah I'm not so sure about that. I try to avoid eating right before I workout
 
I mean having salads is always recommended. I would just think eating 2-3 hours before would be most ideal!
 
If I'm not mistaken, complex carbs like whole wheat pasta or sweet potatoes 2-3hrs before a workout is perfect. Allows your body all the sugars needed to fuel your muscles over long workout periods. Im just not too sure this diet before lifting would be best for a bulk or shred program. Need my memory jogged.
