is milk good or bad for muscle and bones?

Milk does NOT do a body good...actually the opposite! Almond milk is where it is at, goes best with everything! Do yourselves a favor and stay clear of milk...you will be much better off!

ALL humans are not incapable of digesting lactose, but some are... calcium is a great benefit of milk, but be careful because in the absence of lactose, you won't absorb the calcium. Lactose is a catalyst for the absorption of calcium. Lactase (the enzyme neede to digest lactose) is released in the small instestine, hence is digested in the small instestine.
 
I started having stomach problems when I was 15. I went to a stomach specialist. The Dr told me I'm lactose intolerant & that milk is not good for the stomach. Even if you drink milk all the time, its not good for your stomach.
Some people say milk has vitamins. Well I say that's what vitamins are for. I'd rather take a multi vitamin than drink nasty smelling, nasty tasting milk.
I haven't drank milk for the last 20 years. I didn't like it when I was a kid. I made my cereal w/ juice, Hawaiian punch, etc...
I may be biased cause I hate the smell & taste & because I'm lactose int., but the stomach Dr. Told me milk is not good for a persons stomach.
Take a multi vitamin to promote healthy bones.

you problem is too much sugar and calories. a lot of foods you are eating that you think are good for you are NOT... your other thread where you posted your breakfast is cereal for example.. you aren't gonna lose weight eating cereal for breakfast man. you need to swap that out for something like 3 eggs instead. such a little thing like that can make a huge difference

do you even realize how much sugar is in cereal with milk? and chocolate milk you have got to be kidding me.. thats probably more sugar just in 1 glass then you should be drinking in an entire day.. I don't know how old you are but you gotta start eating like a man. and men don't eat captain crunch for breakfast, we eat eggs. cocoa crispies is a TREAT, so is frosted flakes or whatever cereal you are eating. its not something that a healthy person eats but maybe once a month. I know the commercials on tv tell you they are good for you but they are not.
 
Milk is best thing for muscles and bones. it is wrong to say that milk is bad for muscles and bones. Milk provides our body strength and many health benefits so it is good to drink milk daily.

as a personal trainer sadly it doesn't surprise me that you don't know that

I will one up you and say Hemp Milk.. its expensive and sometimes hard to find.. but its by far the most healthy milk out there.

Lol^ milk is shit. Took me forever to figure out what was making me feel so shitty bloated and gassy . Until I cut dairy out of my diet i had never seen a 6pack after 6pm. Occasionally ill have Greek yogurt before bed with some almonds or pb or something of that source, but if you want calcium and vit d go out and get some sun and take a multi it will do your body more good than a glass of milk, or chocolate milk for that matter... Don't listen to them stupid basketball commercials where the guy slamming the chocolate milk is running laps around the competitors, if anything he's probably farting and bloating
 
Thank you, Stevesmi! I didn't know that cereal had so much sugar. I looked at the box. Wow! I don't like eggs too much but I could try them with something on top of them? That might help me to like them. I looked at the milk too. Lots of sugar. I thought it was protein and some carbos. I will write down my diets.
 
no sir it does not. it makes your bones weaker. its an ACID. it depletes your bones of minerals and vitamins... I haven't touched milk in a decade and my calcium levels are completely normal and so is my entire mineral profile.

if you want stronger bones eat a lot of green veggies and good quality water. oh and get a lot of sun for vitamin D.

Stevesmi, from what i've heard you say, you are unable to digest lactose (which is the primary catalyst for helping your body absrorb the calcium in milk.... therefore, no, for you and those who cannot tolerate milk, you will not getting stronger bones because you dont absorb either the lactose nor the calcium. It's not an acid bro. These "facts" everyone keeps throwing around about milk are not even close to being true about 100% of the population, meaning it's something wrong with those of you who can't digest milk. Not trying to be rude, but saying milk is an acid is just flat out not true. All due respect.
