meat tenderizer

i heard somewhere that meat tenderizer breaks down proteins in steak and meat, is this true? should i stop using it?

u mean the hammer?? no it dosent...but actually it makes meat tougher...you want tender mean....cook it slow/.

no, not the hammer...when i make a steak, i stab it with a fork which i know doesnt affect the protein, but i also sprinkle on a powder called meat tenderizer...the powder is the thing my question is about

i would avoid it. cook it slow and it will be tender.
