Lifting on empty?

Would it be recommended to exercise on an empty stomach? Or do we need fuel to get these gains?

your adrenaline is actually higher while in a fasted state

does an animal in the wild eat and then decide 'hey i am going to go kill something else now'.. no they eat then they nap.. when they wake up and get hungry then they look for food again

if you eat a meal then do a tough workout you will naturally throw up because your body cannot digest food while working out.. runners never eat before a race, and if you went to a road race and told people that you ate a meal they would laugh at you and you would be throwing up the whole way

now switching to fasted workouts is going to be tough in 2 situations:

1. you are a powerlifter only, doing short reps. for those you want to fill your muscles with a lot of glycogen

2. you put your body into such an insulin resistant state from eating before workouts, that your brain has learned to function on glycogen and not ketones. so in this case you need to train your body, it will take you a couple weeks in most cases and you won't want to ever eat pre workout again
