Keeping strength & firm muscle while shedding fat?

What's bro's and gals. I've been bulking up the last few months putting on adding some good muscle mass and strength gains. Now it's time to lean up.

The truth is with the added muscle mass I put on some extra fat. A fair amount. I weigh 240 now and need to be 220 in a bad way, (i'm 6'2").

My question is how can I lean up while maintaining the muscle I worked so hard to get. I don't have time for morning cardio. I usually do cardio after my workout at night (8pm). I haven't started to go nuts with the cardio because I'm afraid I will loose the muscle. Will more protien help? I'm not much of a nutrition buff so I don't know how to eat for both loosing weight and maintaining my build. Any comments are appreciated.
