Typically, the leanest you find is 92%, but some places will have 95-96% lean. I can't say for sure which % is the lean they are referring to, but I would assume 92%, since relative to other ground beef, it is very lean, and is easier to find than 95-96% lean. I wouldn't go any "fattier" than 92% if it were me.
thanks for the quick reply. the leanest my local supermarket carries is 90% - I had a feeling that might not be lean enough.![]()
Leanest I have here is 96% (only 4% fat). That is what I use for anything withground beef.
leanest I find is 92% so i consider that lean.
