High GI fruit juice after W.O.

focoman

New member
I was wondering whether or not anyone drinks a high GI fruit juice after work to replenish glycogen levels. Is this a good idea? If so, what juices are the best bet?

I suspect most fruit juice is not good after a workout when cutting. However, some fructose is good postworkout while bulking. Replenishing liver glycogen as well as muscle glycogen may help to initiate an anabolic state. Bananas may be the best choice of post-workout fruit with it's starchiness.

I know you don't want to use fructose as a post work out sugar. Dextrose is good, but I would think that some fruit juices with high GI would be good to have with some whey, as a post W.O. concoction. The GI chart I looked at, showed pineapples have a high GI and I would think there juice would too. Would this be a good idea to add into the mix?
