Fiber - a real laxtive? i just want a fiber additive. Do you take any?

I just bought some fiber at the CVS here.

it says its a 'bulking laxatvie'

im hoping that this will regulate me and not have me shitting my brains out.

i dont get nearly enough fiber a day for my diet.

so throwing 2 teaspoons/day. (10g fiber) and the rest comes from real food.

but how much fiber do you consume/day
 
i consume around 25g a day....i only know that from plugging my food into fitday. not really sure how much fiber your supposed to intake daily. i think it's dfferent for men and women. i would guess around 30-40g for men and 20-30 for women???
 
cool, im getting no where near 30g/day from my food intake.

the only thing with fiber in it is my whole wheat, and thats only 1x a day.
but i have this tub of fiber powder on my desk at work

and it says

"bulking laxative" lol everyone probably thinks im cramped up

Same as JPT..i get at least 25g a day and that's while cutting.. when I was bulking in the 3500-4000 range I was gettign 45-50g in daily.

I'm surprised you're not getting that much Fiber in... your diet consists of clean whole foods as much as anybody. Maybe there's a math error somewhere?

maybe, but in reality, doesnt fiber come from breads and greens? i dont consume many greens as i take my multi vitamin...and bread is a minimum since i am carb sensitive. So bsaiclly i get my fiber in the morning, but after 2pm my fiber is low.

Oatmeal is a super, excellent source. Not to mention fruit.
