Eating at night gets you fat?

Hi guys! I am from Russia, and we have this popularbelief that if you eat after 6 pm, or at night, you will get fat. Somy question is easy – do you get fat by eating in late hours, orno? Really want to break this myth once and for all.

It does not matter when you eat - in the morning, or in the evening. There is no such thing in the body as gaining fat from food taken in the evening, and not getting fat from food taken in the morning. So you need to be eating in accordance with your needs. If you train at night, you can eat after the workout, as your body will be needing it.

It really does not matter what time of the day you eat. All that really matters is your total calorie intake at the end of the day.

A lot of dieters will actually skip breakfast on purpose because they eat one less meal that way which reduces their total calorie intake.

If you end up in a caloric surplus then eating before bed would be terrible. It would be digesting extremely slow since you would be going to sleep. It would be best to not eat close to bed time unless you are trying to gain weight.
