eating a Mediterranean diet

Welcome to the EliteFitness.com Bodybuilding Site! Please join this discussion about eating a Mediterranean diet within the Diet & Bodybuilding category.

Excerpt: I've been reading up on the Mediterranean diet and it seems like it is high in good fats like avocado's, olive oil and some fish. It also is heavy on fruit and veggies as well. Has anyone ever tried this type of diet and if so what were your results on doing it? I am looking to improve my heart health and seems like it is a good one.

I think it is a pretty good overall diet. I agree with a lot of the principles of the diet and apply them myself.

I just eat and count calories. I don't pay much attention to macros unless I'm trying to get to a really low bf% but I really don't have a need for that anymore. I try to stay at 12% year round for overall health.

It's one of the healthiest "diets" (it's not really for losing weight, if I remember right) along with Japanese cuisine. People who eat those tend to live the longest.
