dumb question?

I took this from a Syndrom X article.
"Insulin is the hormone responsible for getting energy, in the form of glucose, or blood sugar, into our cells. A person who is insulin-resistant has cells that respond sluggishly to the action of insulin. Following a meal, this person will have elevated glucose circulating in the blood, signaling yet more insulin to be released from the pancreas until the glucose is taken up by the cells."

yeah it's the test for type2 diabetes.

the old test had you consume about 100g of glucose and see how much was in your blood after a certain amount of time.

talk to your doc..fairly simple procedure, although its different now--maybe simpler :)

my dad has type 2 diabetes so im guessing my insulin sensitivity is bad

i know for a fact that too much carbs are not for me, sunday i kinda went crazy with sugary cereal and i'm still feeling it :(

Insulin sensitivity is a good thing, it means your pancreas won't pump out a ton of insulin to do a given job. You want to increase insulin sensitivity.
