Does cottage cheese have lactose?

I am trying to stop eating anything with lactose due to a suspected lactose intolerance or allergy, so I am putting this theory to test. Can you still eat cottage cheese when trying to get rid of lactose? If I will get the fat-free one, will it still have lactose in it?

It is hard to quantify exactly how much lactose will be there, but I am pretty sure that you will get lactose from cottage cheese, since this product is made from milk. Therefore, better avoid using it, especially while trying to determine if you got trouble with lactose, or not.

Cheese with low levels (less than 5 grams lactose) Fresh unripened cheese (such as mozzarella, cream cheese, and ricotta) are not aged.Cottage Cheese, also a fresh unripened cheese, generally has additional milk or cream mixed with the curd. Therefore, fresh cheeses contain more lactose than aged cheeses.
