I've noticed quite a few posts from people looking for general diet advice and thought this might be useful. It might be a tiny bit dated, (I think BodyOpus is pre-Lyle) but the info should hold up.
Personally I go with Isocaloric and it works for me.

this may be a stupid question...but in the iso-caloric diet what does it mean 1/3 protein, 1/3 fat, 1/3 carbs?? 1/3 of what??
 
1/3 of your daily calorie intake.
So if you want a 2000 calorie/day diet you woul eat 666 calories of each protien/fat/carbs.
