Cottage cheese over casein ???

[FONT=&quot]a friend of mine suggested to me that it is better to have some cottage cheese before bed rather then have a protein shake (casein). Just wondering what everyone's experience and advise is on is subject.[/FONT]

both are wrong. you want to eat no more than 2 hours prior to bed

the worst thing you can do is make your body process food while you are trying to sleep. it not only will interfere with your sleep patterns but it actually will PREVENT your body on focusing on actual repair/recovery

so you are actually SLOWING recovery!

the supplement companies started pushing casein before bed to make $$$
 
Real food is definitely superior, but you want to avoid eating right before bedtime.

It's not a good idea in general to eat before bed
