Why is it bad to have a high cortisol level? And other than more sleep is there anyway to lower this level?

sleep is the best way, Glutimine helps prevent it but being on
the CKD you dont want to take Glutimine except on carb up days high cortisol level, are bad for the fact that it breaks muscle tissue down, its the bodys process of getting protein for other body funtions, high fat moderate protein as with CKD should help keep levels down because all your fuel is being supplied by fat just as long as your calories dont drop to low

CORTISOL IS CAUSED BY STRESS-SLEEP HELPS BECAUSE THE LESS YOU GET, THE HIGHER YOUR STRESS AND THEREFORE CORTISOL LEVEL WILL BE-you may want to try a low dose of an ssri if you have a problem with stress
