Has anyone seen what this guy is pushing on his social media as dieting advice? he is the guy from that documentary bigger, faster, stronger. okay it was a good movie but that doesn't make him a diet expert. he is saying that carbs are okay as long as they are things like sweet potato and not things like oreos and chips, but i thought it does not matter what you eat as long as you hit your macros?

hahah, come on man. so if you eat 500 calories from sweet potatoes you really think that is the same as 500 calories from oreos?

chris bell is absolutely right in this instance. a calorie is just a unit, it is a number. it isn't the end all. different foods partition differently in the body. those oreos go into the body and are going to be more likely to be stored as fat than eating a sweet potato. the people in Okinawa Japan eat sweet potatoes like crazy every single day and they are one of the blue zones of the world. healthy and live a long time.

hitting your macros is a made up thing by food companies to make you feel like it is okay to eat shit.

Not a fan of IIFYM. Your body will respond and look very differently if you are eating whole clean foods vs oreos and chips. Eat smaller meals in a window. Carbs from the right sources like fruit is fine.
