Carbs/sugars in Tomatoes?

    5carbs per large tomato....
    wouldnt stress about it though...rich in vitamins and minerals. i am low carb addict..and i eat about 1 per day - not usually in 1 meal though

    Thanks! I know about the antioxidant properties of tomatoes. It just feel like cheating cause the darn things are so sweet this time of year!

    You can eat plenty of tomatoes w/o worryong about calories/carbs

    raw for vitamins & minerals
    cooked for lycopen

    check out the link above. You can choose any portion size u want.

    seems like 5g of carb / medium size tomato is about right. Mostly simple sugar though, however.

    A tomato is a fruit, and fruits tend to have more sugar than fiber....but 5g is no big deal, IMO. Do 10 jumping jacks to burn it off.

    I avoid them... sure its only 5 grams or so of sugar/carbs but they are simple carbs... you can find much better carbs than that!
