Cacao as energy drink?

I have seen yesterday in one TV show, where theyshowed athletes taking cacao as their energy drink, and I mean theraw bitter cacao, not some kind of Nesquik. And these were top levelathletes. Do you know about the benefits of cacao? How much of itwould be a good idea?

raw bitter cacoa does have health benefits.

problem is nobody sells the stuff cause people don't want to buy bitter tasting chocolate, we grew up eating sugary chocolate. you can try your local healthfood store to find it but it tastes NOTHING like you would expect

In fact, 2/3 of the Russian Olympic team drink this raw cacao on a daily basis, because it has so many health benefits, but this form of cacao is no even close to being tasty - it is very bitter. If you can stand this, it is sure a nice thing to drink regularly, not for the taste, but rather for the health benefits.

There are a lot of benefits including antioxidant properties. It is just something that is not very popular because we are wired to think of typical sweet chocolate.
