Brain food

I eat 5 small clean meals per day. I feel good all day long, but I must say, my brain function isn't all that great. I can feel a HUGE improvement in brain fuction once I eat a "dirty" meal. I can read faster. I can comprehend things much better in school, and I can memorize things better.

Why does this happen? Wtf is in the dirty food (like the Wendys meal I just had) that makes my brain "turn on"????

Many students in my school rely on caffeine to turn their brains on. Me? I require dirty food to turn my brain on. Wtf????

I feel the same way .. Not sure why? Not enough glucose for the brain? We need those simple carbs I guess ..

I eat oatmeal, sweet potatoes and brown rice all day. Feel fine, brain feels semi-dead. I go and eat a #2 at wendys and now I feel rejuvenated. This is so weird.

Me too...I think it all comes down to habit...we must regulate our glycemic index and that takes a long time to adjust

Long time to adjust? I've been doing this diet for many, many years now.

I'm still baffled. Ok, its been over 4 hours since I ate the dirty meal (wendys). So far, I feel great mentally AND....my body is not asking for food.

Wtf is going on? Why did this happen? No lie, feel better for loooonger period of time on a dirty meal than on a clean meal, but, we all know I can't eat dirty forever.
