Excerpt: Read a book called the Atkins diet by Robert Atkins, not sure if any of you have read it? in the book he says to restrict carbs. it is heavy on protein source animal products or tofu, then veggies, then certain fruits like berries and avocados, then seed oils and dairy, then whole grain options, what do you guys think about this diet?

    Atkins diet thoughts

    its another diet that is very good assuming you are sticking with a natural whole foods diet. nothing at a restaurant is going to fit that bill though since they add refined oils

    The idea of reducing carbs, and eliminating processed carbs is great. The tricky thing with Atkins is eating too much protein. This will only convert to sugar in the body anyways. This is why it is so important to get enough good fats in when you are reducing carbs.

    It's ok temporary if you're training for a contest but it's not very healthy long-term.
