Hasselbeck Practices, Expected to Start Sunday
Matt Hasselbeck is back at practice, even though he was limited Thursday. Coach Mike Munchak is “definitely confident” that Hasselbeck (calf) will start against Indianapolis on Sunday, Tennessean writer Jim Wyatt reports
Hasselbeck himself said he isn’t sure if he’ll play, and Jake Locker received the majority of first-team snaps. Hasselbeck’s status still seems a bit up in the air at the moment.
Hasselbeck hurt his left calf early in last week's 22-17 loss to New Orleans Saints[/url][/b]. He had an MRI on Monday and watched practice Wednesday.
The 13-year veteran hasn't missed a start this season since signing a three-year contract with Tennessee. He said his calf feels good, and he'll be in by 6:30 a.m. Friday morning for more tests just like a handful of other players. Hasselbeck thinks only his scrambling would be most affected and thinks the timing is fine against the considering the speedy Robert Mathis and Dwight Freeney.
Hasselbeck’s speedy return from a calf injury is a bit of a surprise. He was limited in practice and still isn’t certain to start, but the team now expects him to start.
So does Jim Wyatt of the who believes Hasselbeck should be ready to roll barring a setback Friday.
Jake Locker will be at the ready if anything goes wrong with Hasselbeck. The Titans should be able to beat the Colts with either quarterback
