  1. oh yeah, Discount Books is the place I check out first! I think you gave it to me couple years ago and now I have become a regular....lol

Oh, girl, I know how it is to work on something, but your heart is somewhere else. As to the too complicated stuff at Kraigs book and other egyptian things - I have never been a fan of things that are way on top ceremonial. I had a guy that I knew from OTO (from back home) and even he agreed that most of the time its the simplest things that are the most powerful....he said that his friend went to woman for I forgot what purpose. She went in the woods, took off her clothes, raised her hands and called - it came.

Thanks for that phone number mama! I am sure to call when I am buying books again - which wont be too long...lol
  2. Castings is out of print?! Nevermind, if you call here I'll guarantee you can get a copy: Bell, Book & Candle, Dover DE (302) 678-4545. That's Ivo's store. I know they ship (also the place to go if there's something you want and have no idea where to get it, they'll know where to find it). There's tons of copies of Castings floating around.

Shit, did I tell you about this place before? They have EXCELLENT new book prices and unbeatable shipping rates. Granted, not the most extensive library but definitely a first check for anything. They have several Penczak and DAN books right now: Discount New Age Books | Up To 85% Off New Books, Tarot Decks

As to the other author you mentioned, I can't say I've ever heard of them so I can't express an opinion. However, I looked at a preview of the book on amazon and then next time I run across it I'll pick it up, it looks interesting! I recognize the cover ... one of the reasons I may have blown by it before is that it does reiterate a bit of info that I've got in other books but I saw the ancient Egypt stuff and our coven is working on that right now (blech, too heavy and formal for my tastes, all the more so considering I'm getting into shamanic stuff, talk about juxtaposition!)
  3. omg, I just checked them all out and they are wonderful! Ivo Dominguez is out of print and hella expensive :-( Penczak is my regular drug...lol...I cant get enough from him! How would you compare "Modern Magic" by Kraig with the authors you gave me?
  4. Sorry for taking so long on getting back to you. Best books/authors for "things to do":

Anything by Dolores Ashcroft-Nowicki (she has quite a few books of just pathworkings and has an incredible workbook set, quite expensive but it's literally a "lightworker 101" starter kit, called "your unseen power" I have it, excellent for the solitary if you're interested in Western Magical style).

    Anything by Christopher Penczak.

    Anything by T. Thorn Coyle.

"Castings" by Ivo Domingue, Jr. (this is a book of nothing but various castings, including simple how tos on grounding/centering and personal energetic control. It was written by the founding elder of my tradition).

  5. ohhhh.....thank you, thank you so much! I love my tattoos, more so because they are spiritual to me :-) Thinking of getting another sleeve or maybe a back piece, but I cant decide what I want to ink at either location...lol

Well, few weeks ago I did send a msg that I want to have sales, but not so much for it take away time with the family and personal time from me. So, its working out that way now.

Yes, yes....give me some titles, you know that I am a book freak....I cant pass on it...lol

You know, with Hekate...I actually knew nothing of her. Later on the "coincidences" started playing back in my mind - we moved to a 3 way crossroad; we are the 3rd house from it; I started looking her up for some reason; on Easter she came to my husbands dreams; I have been having flashes of claws, red eyes and dragon head in my meditation which I was scared of; then I came upon a worldwide ritual post to honor her; looked her up in my meditation and she showed up as 3 different persona....well, if THAT didnt spell it out for me, then I dont know what to say...lol
  6. Bitchin' ink, BTW, girl!
  7. Well if you want books that give you things to do Oh there I can help you. If you want give me a shout. Sounds like you have yourself plenty busy and your hands full as it is.

Hecate huh My acting High Priest's patroness is Hecate. She can be a bit of a taskmistress Our tradition does a big ritual to Hecate in the very early autumn (I think it will be performed at a guest location this year). Very interesting, looooonnnnng ritual. Three priestesses aspect (which is like drawing down but the priestess is more "with it") the three faces of Her (maiden/mother/crone) and you can go to the goddess and ask a question/blessing or boon.
  8. yeah I became tired of books with too much theory and history....its like, c'mon, ok..show me HOW to do stuff, tell me about peoples experiences or yours etc. Same thing with the witchcraft books. I read the reviews on Amazon and if they say its advanced, then I buy. I dont know what to do with all 101 books that I have.

Did I ever tell you that I got attuned to Reiki 2 years ago? I am at level II now, not sure if I want to go for a Master. My teacher is not feeling really good lately and I am very iffy about going to someone else for a Master/Teacher attunement.

My patron finally came to me (not that I was trying to get one).....it was Hekate. Now I ordered some books on her history and ways to honor and worship.

Oh girl, I didnt take a break because I wanted it...lol...I started an online home based business and I got sucked into it without leaving me time for anything else. BUT, I wished for it to take off, so I guess I got what I wished for...lol

You know, I think what you told me years ago about not searching a coven is the smartest thing ever, for me at least. I do miss having someone that I can tell my experiences and they can help me out, but I can work on my craft in my own pace....I guess everything has its cons and pros
  9. I've read Sandra's first book (its super short, read 1/3 of it waiting to get my taxes done). Comes with a CD so you can jump right into journeying. She's a good introduction to the quickie nuts and bolts of how to journey, Harner is more the theory and history.

Don't blame you for taking a break, there's plenty of times I wish I could take a for real one, we manage quite a few weeks at a time. Our coven's been doing Egyptian alchemy lately, frankly, it's not my cup of tea but it's only six more months. I way more connect to the shamanic stuff, little more visceral.
  10. Let me know how Sandra fairs....I read Harner and I like him :-) With so many materials available, we can never say - huh....what should I work on now? lol

I have taken a serous 2 year brake from my studies and practices. The last few months I have been getting back on track. Like riding a bicycle, once you learn it doesnt take long to start doing it again :-)

I have missed you too mama :-(
