You really dont need to spend the money on a Trek if its just for tooling around the city. Mine is a Diamondback and it was only $200 or so but i think it was on sale.

For a box bike, Specialized are doing pretty good these days. I got my setup for 500 but i kinda wish i had got a coustom job because most oem suspensions don't support heavy weight.
