Is there any sort of free software for tracking exercise and food intake etc?

That fitday site is pretty good..

I found some of the foods where hard to find but I could also get it close enough. But when I first joined this site that is the first place the women's forum directs you to. They always have the best advice!

counting calories is a waste

your body upregulates and down regulates your metabolism in response to intakes

for example when you binge say during thanksgiving dinner and take in 3000 calories
I'd estimate around half those calories don't even get absorbed/digested

on the flip side say you put yourself on a 1000 calorie a day diet
within a week your body will become more efficient at calorie conservation

how the hell do you think forced slave labor survives on those minimal servings(e.g. the nazi's labor camps)?

Totally disagree with you, if you get the right balance you can make your body into a very efficient machine.... by the way is upregulate a word??

I guess its a waste when you are on gear also? Tell that to virtually everyone here who changes their diet according to what cycle they are on.
