All the pirate rips I've seen have all been pretty shitty quality....never tried a bluray rip though. How is the quality?

Pretty much perfect. They are usually ripped in 720p, same as most VOD services. 1080p rips are usually available, but range anywhere from 8-12GB depending on the audio. 720p rips are usually
4-6GB.

A lot DVD rips are usually compressed down to 699mb, so that they can be copied on to a standard data CD. Those are pretty low quality unless you are watching in a little 3x4" inch window on your laptop.

Sounds good. I got real disappointed in Netflix

and somehow you think Redbox is going to find more content and rent it for less money?

Redbox has the same agreement with most of the major studios that Netflix has. No new releases for 28 days to allow the studio to attempt to get extra revenue from DVD/Bluray/VOD.
