No, you still have to wait a genuine 24 hours. We went through this hassle last week this side of the pond. I'm still messed up and awaiting a convenient time to reset my hits to something more manageable.

Elite runs on an approximation to sidereal time and merely converts to local time for our convenience.

You'd be better off worrying about issues like the weather and gas prices.
