Missed my fucking flight

I have never missed a flight nor have I ever been forced to run towards the gate. I have had to run for at least a dozen since being with my wife and just missed my first flight ever. Has anyone else experienced this phenomenon? It drives me fucking CRAZY. Good excuse to have a scotch though.

I once missed my connection and had to sleep in the Miami Airport, they offered me a hotel stay in a hotel like 20 miles away but with no transport, back then I didn't drive
