okay...

i have cable internet...and i got Vonage (VOIP) (i connect but it drops my connection shortly thereafter).... however it is not great for dialing my companies VPN (virtual private network) thru dial-up as this is what we use...I had verizon local for a short while which worked fine but was costly as i could only make local calls...


Vonage was 24.99 month (unlimited), but shitty dialup
Verizon was 22.00 month only local 1-area code and dial up worked...

whats the best match for me for wanting long-distance along with non-VOIP phone system.

I have RCN. See if they're in your area. The first time I called my son he was astounded, said it sounded like I was in the room with him.
