1. Details do matter. You can make the case any story is more or less of a story because of certain details. Example, dude is found dead at the bottom of a cliff...so what. He probably fell. Suppose dude is found dead at the bottom of a cliff and his wife was seen smiling walking back to the car. Kinda changes things, doesn't it? The devil is in the details.
2. When the cop tells Ryan again to go get his insurance Ryan walks around to the far side of a darkened vehicle. Not only does the officer not follow to keep him in sight, he actually turns his back to talk on the radio. Those are not the actions of a cop who is worried something is gonna go down. We can talk all day about how dangerous a cop's job is but this is a cop who is 100% in control of the situation. Why not give the guy the benefit of the doubt?
3. The CNN video is titled "Cop halts visit to dying in-law", not "cop detains black dude while his mother dies". I don't need this to be a racial thing to make it newsworthy. I post my thread even if the guy pulls over Jason Witten.
That is my excellent, well thought out response...which I hope YOU read.
I read it and I, as always, respect your opinion.
BTW for #3 I never brought race into this and I always hate it when people do. (I assume that wasn't directed at me anyway). I don't care if it was the Swedish Bikini team going in to see their dying vibrator. Race is irrelevant.
