Favorite Book or Author, or What are U currently or have recently Read?

currently reading Watchmen and it is an amazing graphical novel .....
that is on my list bro! how is it? I've never really read a graphic novel, not since 7th grade when I read comics.

My favorite Author is Rob Bell "Velvet Elvis" (Book is not about Elvis) and "Sex God" I also like Donald Miller a lot.

I am currently reading a book right now that I don't like. It's called "Why I am not emergent by two guys who should be". It's boring, and the info in incorrect.

I'm curious bout your latest read... the title sound intriguing.

Ayn Rand is my favorite author. Atlas Shrugged is one of the best books I have ever read.

I rarely read fiction though.

I reads alot... lol
Never read Rand though, an utter genius. Atlas Shrugged is one long ass book, I do like the premise though, and am mystified how Rand came up with the concept of changing atmospheric electromagnetic energy into kinetic, and also dig on the importance it gives to innovation and how we are so reliant on those gifted with this vision. Since you dug this so much, u will absolutely love Kurzweil's ideas... I do not totally agree with him, but his brilliance and the concepts he suggests are absolutely seductive and I had to watch myself rationalize how he could be right after all. In a way he could be the founder of the next pseudo religion. As preposterous as this sounds... it really isn't. Who would have predicted the turn we have made with the internet, 12 years ago? Oh, thats right, Kurzweill did, my bad.

A Definite Top 5 = "A Prayer for Owen Meany" by John Irving
I thought U were gonna bust out some obscure latin apocalyptic text... j/k
Reading about the plot sounds like something I would really dig, I do dig on the theme that it is so much easier to have faith when one has experienced the mystical or supernatural or unexplainable in life... not a prereq, but its viagra for the spirit.. imo.
I think some are innately predispositioned to have alot more faith than others... not by their choice, nor do I think is it a causal result of brain configuration, neurotransmission, or anything biological... there maybe synchronous correlations as science has pointed out, however, they are not the causal factors... being blessed with the grace of faith lies outside cause and effect and logic based knowledge IMO... anyway good stuff.

Do you feel that your game has improved? Are you gonna read rules of the game or whatever the sequel is...

He dated the hawtie from Courtney Love's band, I think she's a hawtie, I really don't remember.
Not really, having 'game' isn't necessary here, but I feel I have become more observant of social dynamics and it's been fun trying out some of the techniques for a laugh. To be honest I felt sorry for the guys in the book.

I read this for the first time today. I need to readmore Yeats...

An Irish Airman foresees his Death

I KNOW that I shall meet my fate
Somewhere among the clouds above;
Those that I fight I do not hate
Those that I guard I do not love;
My country is Kiltartan Cross, 5
My countrymen Kiltartan’s poor,
No likely end could bring them loss
Or leave them happier than before.
Nor law, nor duty bade me fight,
Nor public man, nor cheering crowds, 10
A lonely impulse of delight
Drove to this tumult in the clouds;
I balanced all, brought all to mind,
The years to come seemed waste of breath,
A waste of breath the years behind 15
In balance with this life, this death.
