Does hair really grow back quicker/thicker if you shave it?

complete bs, it has nothing to do with the hair follicle that is below the epidermis, it does make it coarser b/c of the way its cut meaning it feels rougher and its all the same length, like stubble, but it has nothing to do with the hair follicle itself. Complete old wive's tale

Doesn´t make sense to begin with. The natural point of a hair is thinner though than a cut off end

When I shave my torso, the hairs seem to multiply. Where there was one hair it becomes two or three growing out of the same area. I'm not sure if the shaving stimulates anything but it does seem to happen like that. Maybe they were already there and I did'nt notice them. They do seem thicker though.

My head hair left me when I was a boy. I never knew my father... (father =head hair)
