He has made amazing strides.

He is gaining a little movement in his hands.

He is doing great thing for paralysis patients.

maybe so, but I wouldn't to be in shoes. he's not living, he's just existing.

however I do realize that what he's doing is very imortant. he raises a lot of money for paralysis research. when paralysis is finally cured, he's get some of the credit.

and I think it was his fingers that could move a little.

Yeah dude... the docs said he'd never move any part of his body again... movement in his fingers is awesome.

The thing is... that not all the nerves in his spinal column were destroyed... thre are some that are left in tact... Nerves are trained to do certain things... the doctors are in the process of trying to RETRAIN the nerves that he has left, to take on the added tasks of moving his body and such... it is possible, it just may take some time....

His muscles have not atrophied TOO bad... because of the electro-therapy and other physical therapy work he does... so WHEN they do retrain his nerves... it will be a tremendious recovery.

That sort of paralysis has got to be one of the biggest fears anyone could have... to know there cure that is possible out there, and could be getting closer by the day is remarkable.

seriously...

this is one of the areas that fetal stem
cell research is so important in...

my biggest gripe with bush is his interference
with the research community in this area...

reeves should have been in bed a coupla
weeks waiting for the modified stem cells
to completely knit his spinal cord...

fucking conservatives...

so lets just abort and kill more babies for stem cells.

how many people should we kill for science and where does it end?

I have been so impressed how that man has never given up. I can't imagine if I had been in his situation. The fact that he has any movement at all is a huge step. (No one say a single word about the use of the word step.) I expect things to only get better for him from this day on.

never said that...

there will always be unavoidable
miscarriages and the rate of people's seeking
abortions will not be affected by
the harvest of stem cells...

its my understanding that stem cell
cloning is either already viable or getting
close...

the government needs to stay out of
r&d...look what theyve done with the welfare state...

i think you would feel different if you
were the one that was a quadraplegic(sp)...

or had parkinson's, altzheimers(sp), lou gehrigs,
were on dialysis, needed a liver transplant or some
other disease that will likely be easily cured in the
future by the fruits of this type of research...
