I am kidding about the lard-ass part. :)

Who here mountain bikes?
Got any good suggestions on what to look for when buying?

I want a full-suspension. Other than that I don't know what to get, like how many speeds, tire size, etc....

My riding will consist of trail riding with some mountains and moderate terrain. I have a Mongoose hard tail for the bang-up off roading.

I like this one. Still I want to stay under $1200 if possible.

Don't skimp - get Shimano everything. Do some research on tires too.

The web is your friend.

I gotta mongoose.. LOL

Yeah, I bought mine from the Walmart.:D
They are decent bikes (the ones there) for the money, but they weight a ton. My crank broke too, so I'm not sure how well they are made.

Time to upgrade for me.

Uhhhh..... my name only comes from my Moutain Bike.

what do you weigh bro? Are you talking single track riding or freeride/downhill?

If you want canondale this is pretty much you're only full suspension option under $1200- jekyll 400

The FSR XC Pro from Specialized wouldn't be a bad option either-

If you're over 200 lbs tho both those bikes front fork will be a little soft. I'd sugges the stumpjumper FSR-

uhh.... Cannondale (aka Cracknfail) suck.
Too many proprietary parts that are overly expensive.
