100x100 pixels for a custom Avatar...?

How do I do that? I'm not very computer literate, so if I crop a digital pic on my PC down to 100 X 100 pixels, I'm left with practically an absurdly small area of the pic I wanna put in... How the hell do I reduce the overall size of my pic to fit it all in the 100 X 100 space??

You don't want to crop the picture you will want to resize it. most of the graphics manipulation packages have a resize option. You will select that from there you can tell it how many pixels you want it. A good program for this would be LviewPro (really easy and free for a month) You can download the eval copy here:
