Excerpt: I work long hours and with the pandemic they took away the little fridge at my company headquarters. I work in a mill in the midwest and it is like 100 degrees so i get super hungry and dehydrated. i don't have much of an option anymore and have been using these powdered weight gainers which i just mix with water and drink it. are they that bad for me?

    are weight gainers bad?

    read what is in them. it is refined sugars, artificial sugars, and a lot of fillers and garbage that do not belong in the body

    try boiling an egg or something like that instead

    Most of them are just a bunch of crap ingredients that will make you fat. They are super calorie dense but not with good quality ingredients. Stick to real food.

    Most weight gainers are just whey and dextrose/maltodextrin. So.. basically just sugar.

    There are meal replacement shakes out there that are based on whole foods, they would be a better option.

    You can always make your own, whole food shake..

    2 Cups Milk ( I use Fair Life)
    1 Cup Oats ( Adjust to fit your macros)
    2 Tbl Peanut Butter

    Throw in whatever else you want.. fruit ect.
