supplement recommendations for cutting diet

wanna b surfer

okay, im looking to get three things: L-glutamine, flax seed oil caps, and protien powder. i will need about a months supply.
i was wondering what the most effective glutamine was, like which brand? and what the best tasting protien powder is? or what you guys prefer, and lastly, i think flax is pretty standard, but if you have any recommendations there too, please say which you think is best.
thanx

Don't buy the flaxseed oil gelcaps. You will need to take about 15 caps to equal 1 tablespoon, it's not worth it and don't think you want all those gelcaps in your stomach anyway. And the flax in the gelcaps i heard is not as pure as the liquid that comes in the bottle.

As for protein for cutting i'd opt for casseinate, egg, whey blend w/ mostly cassein. If you workout take straight whey and dextrose however.

And to me Glutamine is Glutamine. I think it's great for recovery, but as an anticatabolic agent it's way too expensive for that. If you eat a meal every 3 hours and have protein w/ ever meal you may not need the glutamine. It's expensive.

Glutamine in either the D, L or peptide form can be used anytime.

as stated by wanna b surfer..glutamine can help to preserve muscle while on a calorie restricted diet.

I agree. I take glutamine all the time, regardless of diet. Like RB said, if you're eating enough real protein every day, you might not need it, but I take it anyway. I think it's necessary.

xenadrine

wenadrine, xenadrine, xenadrine the shit is crazy. if you eat right and exercise you'll be extremely cut but you will loose alot of strength atleast i did.

as for the D and L form, I think ONLY the L form (it is relative to the spatial configuration) is efficient

Any biochemistry specialist here ?

okay, so avoid the caps. L-glutamine is good, but how about protien. i want to know what you guys think tastes good, if possible. if not, which one is furthest from tasting bad.

Ok, as far as the best for your money is concerned, here goes....
For glutamine, go with AST's GL3 1200grams. You get the most for your money.
For Protein, anything that's good quality, low to no fat, and low to no carbs is best. Take 3 shakes a day.
For flax, Flora makes a lot of really good products. Personally I love there Udo's Choice Perfected Oil Blend. Very good stuff. Definitely worth taking.

Glutamine: take 15-25 grams a day when calories are really restricted. Split up doses and try to take on an empty stomach

Protein: supplement shakes with whole food intake. shoot for at least 1 gram per pound of body weight for protein intake per day

Flax: probably anywhere from 2-4 tablespoons per day, all depending on how high you want your fat intake. the stuff does help you get lean though

Thermogenic: good old ECA, nothing more than that. the stuff works the best. just take it a couple times a day for a few weeks to supplement your diet. if your eating right and doing cardio often enough, you shouldn't need to go too crazy with it.

Train, eat, grow
