How long is creatine good for?

A friend gave me some creatine-he bought it a long time ago but it doesn't smell at all-does creatine go bad if it is sealed? Forgive my stupidity

well mine sat in my room for a year, and when i finally started using it, I ballooned up w/ water... so i guess it was still good..?

Currently they are being dated for a shelf life of 3 years from date of being packaged.

well, seeing as all it is hydrated creatine, i wouldn't really worry. i found half a kilo that i had lost that had already been opened. it was like 3 or 4 years old. the creatine was all clumpy and stuck together, but i broke it apart, and pulverized it back into it's powder state, and it worked as good as it always does. so there you go.
