eating aminos for mass (BCAA)

do they help to gain muscle mass? they seem to be very safe for any age person, like in my case, I'm 19 and I would like to know how much do I have to take to get muscle size? and my other questions is if there a limit or cycle length limit of taking aminos, I have read if you overdo supplements over the counter they can bring health issues too in the long run, thank you.

When you eat a protein source (such as chicken, tuna, eggs etc) your digestive system breaks apart the protein molecules into individual amino acids which your body then absorbs.

Taking an amino acid supplement is not needed if you are already eating a high protein diet.

If you are going to spend your money on something, buy a good quality whey protein supplement to help meet your body's daily protein requirements.

When purchasing a whey protein - you want to see nothing but that in the ingredients list. Whey protein, natural flavours, a natural calorie free sweetener like stevia and then maybe some salt, soy lechitin and cocoa powder. There are a lot of good products on the market. I personally use isolation from n2bm.com. A good whey isolate should be pretty much fat and carb free. Isolation has 26g protein, 1g carb, 0g fat per 30g scoop.

BCAAs are waste of money unless used for fasted training, but HMB is better than BCAAs for fasted training.

I second what others are saying. If your diet is on point you do not need BCAAs, it is a waste of money.

The only beneficial caveat you could garner from taking BCAAs is during fasted training. BCAAs, in this case, would act as an anticatabolic, meaning muscle breakdown will be mitigated slightly or completely depending on training intensity and length. The primary mover in the BCAA stack is leucine, this guy is the catalyst that spikes protein synthesis. Unless you get a flavored kind, BCAAs taste HORRIBLE!

See here:
Leucine supplementation and intensive training.

SIDE NOTE: If you are looking for an effective supplement for fasted training, look into β-Hydroxy β-Methylbutyrate, aka HMB. HMB is a substance formed when your body metabolizes the amino acid leucine, which, again, is the amino acid that directly stimulates protein synthesis. Further, it has no effect on insulin levels, which means it will not “break” your fasted state. Based on research, HMB is superior to leucine in regards to suppressing muscle breakdown.

See here:
Effects of leucine and its metabolite β-hydroxy-β-methylbutyrate on human skeletal muscle protein metabolism.

What you need to eat, is not aminos but food.

Food, exercising and resting is what makes you grow. Not powders.

However, BCAAs have their own time and place. Mostly around workout times. Otherwise its quite useless.

Truth here.

I only use one company bcaa and only during faster training.

It's a little known product called amino beyond. Good shit.
