Best thing to take after workout?

Which supplements is best to take after a big workout session? I want to recover and gain muscle so I must take the best.
 
food and supplements do not help you recover after a workout. we need to stop making people think that.

what happens post workout is your muscle fibers are broken down and then become inflamed (NOT from lactic acid but from inflammation).. that is the body trying to repair itself. the best thing you can do is LET IT REPAIR with rest and sleep. so take a nap post workout if you can
 
After your workout you are depleted of amino acids and glycogen so something high in protein and carbs would be ideal.

Easiest would be a protein shake and a carb source like oatmeal
