Why does FINA need to be kept cold?

 Would someone explain to me why FINAPLEX must be kept at lower temps? I missed the postman by one day and the ice pack was melted! Am I screwed?

It doesn't need to be cold. It just shouldn't get super hot like leaving it in the sun. They ship it in ice to prevent against this possibility during transit although not likely.

They should be kept cold for long term storage to retard oxidizing. A couple days of exposure to higher daytime temperatures is ok, but set it out in the open sun for a month or two and its worthless. At room temperature it should keep for about a year.
