To achieve this you need to eat constantly to keep a positive nitrogen balance period.......

ingesting enough protein to provide the body with more than what it uses.... resulting in nitrogen excreted in the urine. if urinary urea nitrogen value is less than zero - it's a negative nitrogen balance.

So a followup...

So do AAS....raise the level of protein need to have a positive nitrogen balance or does it lower it.

Raising it would make sense your body will use more than it normally would therefore it would be harder to maintain a positive nitrogen balance without eating more protein. But that is just a guess?
