re: glycemic index use for cutting phase

does anyone have any experience using this index? i was speaking with a personal trainer who has won amatuer contests and he said anytime he cuts down he eats foods lower than 50 on the index as his carb choices. he eats 2g of carbs per bodyweight and 1.5g of protein per bodyweight. i was wondering if anyone else has had success doing this. any info. would be appreciated.

Personally, that seems like WAY TOO MANY carbohydrates for a cutting phase.

I weighed about 170 (to start) and consumed about 40-50 grams of carb's precontest, all in the 2 meal after training. I got down to 150 for my last show...

I don't even eat 2 grams/pound of bodyweight when I'm bulking...
