Last Platinum Poll - 4 bombs in 24 hours - is 24 hours enough?

Here's the last poll for you about the Platinum moderation and banning feature.

The consensus among the Platinum Members is that four of you should be required to make the posts of a regular member go dark and that the "blackout" should last for two days instead of one as we originally set it.

Now, I would appreciate your letting me know one final thing. Currently, it takes 4 Platinum Members giving out negative karma in a 24 hour period for a regular member's posts to go dark. When a regular member gets negative karma from a Platinum Member, a "time bomb" <img src="http://www.elitefitness.com/forum/images/smallkarmaimage.gif"> that lasts for 24 hours appears in all of his posts. So for <a href="http://www.elitefitness.com/reports/platinum/" target="_blank">Platinum Members</a> to ban someone, the four negative Karma time bombs must be dropped in a 24 hour period.

If the regular member does not get negative karma from 4 different Platinum Members in 24 hours, then his account reverts back to normal status. I would like your feedback on the 24 hour setting. Is it too long or is it too short. Please vote in this poll.

If it is being used legitimately to black out posts of scammers or dickheads, then it would be just to black out (ban) their posts for a week or longer, but theres no way to make a distinction between assholes bombing and bombing assholes. So until the abuse of this feature by immature members stops, I think the plat bomb ban should not last longer than 12 hours.

Im with you on the abuse thing. You dont want people to abuse the privilege and start banning everybody for every little ridiculous thing. This is what concerns me about every plat having the privilege to bomb people.

24 hrs is good. make it longer than that, and the non plats will not come back, or be encouraged to join. Make it 24 and they might want to join so they can bomb people.

Make it fun, not too cumbersome. 24 hours.

Maybe you guys should think about making it where you have to have been a platinum member for a certain amount of time in order to be able to bomb people. Sort of like a senority type of system.

The whole bomb thing is a good idea........in theory. Unfortunately power tends to corrupt. This is very apparent on the C&C board. There are a small handful of members who have decided to band together and are abusing this right to bully non-plats. For whatever reason I don't see this type of high school behavior on the anabolic board.

I voted for 72hours b/c I do see some people that need to be banned; however, I belive that every plat. member has their own view on the topic, and, generally, I think the best way to mediate the situation would be to assign 1-2 mods to deal w/ the bomb cases. Meaning, let's say Apexx is non-plat and gets bombed (just an example) his case automatically goes to the 2 mods and they decide as a team if the bombing was fair - defusing the "assholes banning 'nice people'" situation. Last thing, I saw a member get bombed (a short while back) that was very nice and respectful but disagreed with a plat. member that had a "crew"; thus, he was taken out for a bit for disagreeing...IMO, all these cases should come under our review.

I think most plats. would agree with this....
