Keeping gains

What are the best ways to keep all of your gains. I guess no matter what you are gonna lose the water you retained but i was reading a post today alot of people 3 months down the road are only up 3 pounds. In my mind I would hate to have my weight go up 25lb only to be right back where i started in 3 months and prob look smaller to everyone than i did in the first place. Anyways what are the top 3 way to keep the most of your gains.

yup...that pretty much sums it up. you can yield some nice permanent lean body mass if you cycle wisely.
 
Can't forget that alot of it comes down to body type too..... If youre a hardgainer, you will have more trouble keeping gains..... Where Endo/Mesomorphs will have an easier time keeping them......

for me, EQ, TREN, Winny all stick around on me for good. Test, well, I can keep a good portion of it but I still loose a bit which can be depressing.
