Iodine Question

Does anyone know how to make Iodine crystals or where to get it. I don't think it's illegal. I have Iodine but was told I need Iodine Crystals. Which I thought was a was cleanser or some sort.

Im not sure where u can get crystals from, i think i may have seen something about making pure iodine crystals in the Anarchist's cook book, but i dunno.
