IGF-1 knee injury

ok last january my lil cuz tore his articular cartilage in his knee wrestling and couldent walk for a month and got surgery 8 months later (athroscopy) and they removed peices of cartilage and did a lateral release, injury happend when he was 15 hes 16 now about 6'2 260 18-20 % bf but hes having knee pain (slight pain when walking) and pain when training his quads and wants to keep wrestling so could injecting igf-1 in his lower quad help heal the cartilage in his knee ? (solid answers please, cuz i kno ill get some flaming on this thread) junt want my cuz's knee ok cuz i care about the bro

My knee still hurts from time to time from similar operation 10 years later.....It hurt quite a bit for a few years after as well. The pain is mostly caused by the knee retaining water.....If you keep sodium and inflamation/swelling down it will not hurt- I guess the body thinks there is still an injury there and fills it with fluid under stress
Nothing that I know of will regenerate cartilage

i would ask his orthopod--no one under 18 age should take anything that is not prescribed by a doc

what exactly where you looking for? You asked for advice and they gave it. From that comment, I think all you were really looking for is for someone to pretty much say yes to your idea just to make you feel better about doing it... IMO, I wouldnt. A lot can happen.

great... i knew i couldent get help on the forums .. just more flaming about age

^^^agree with inhibitor, no one flamed you--until now, what kind of a moron would give a child a drug like ifg-1? do you realize the risk?????? you are just upset the the forum would not validate your proposed criminal behavior of giving a drug in which the long term effects are wholly unknown to a minor.

if you do not think your proposed course of conduct is not risky why would you not ask his orthopod?

I sympathise with your position and understand your only looking out for what's best but in reality anyone with half a brain is not going to recommend a drug of any kind to a teenager. Seriously man, this is not flaming at all. Just a plain old dose of common sense.

An orthopedic specialist is what is called for here and not a BB'ing forum, as good as the advice on here might be at times.

he has an orthopedist, and even said if he keeps training and gose on with wrestling hes evuntally gonna need his knee replaced in 10-15 yrs , even if he cant use igf-1 now like use it at 18 cuz he wants to go to a pro wrestling school then
