Doctors and blood tests

So we get a few posts here most months referencing getting various tests done at a local clinic, with their doctor or whatever. Often said tests results are questioned by our members. They want to, of course, keep taking certain supplements and PED's like steroids.

Now, more so where you use medical insurance and or pay privately, there are issues with not getting the care paid for if you admit to using PED's. But you're also asking for any such tests to be accurate for what was being tested for without mentioning a bunch of stuff which can skew the results.

One very common example I used in replying on a thread is CREATINE. One of if not the MOST used supplements ever its use can give a false for a blood marker CREATININE (note the slightly different spelling).

Here's what a high level of it might mean: Elevated creatinine level signifies impaired kidney function or kidney disease. As the kidneys become impaired for any reason, the creatinine level in the blood will rise due to poor clearance of creatinine by the kidneys. Abnormally high levels of creatinine thus warn of possible malfunction or failure of the kidneys.

So you've gone for a test and not mentioned your use of Creatine and boom... the results come back with a high level marker for kidney issues.

If you go a docs and expect a proper doc to know what the f**k they're doing but to do so without mentioning supplements and or drugs which can skew the results and, in some cases, PAY for the tests, and still expect a proper diagnosis... well that's moronic.
