I asked my doc the same question a few months back. He said that its pretty hard to catch AIDS thru oral sex-with either sex- unless you happen to have sores/cuts/scrapes on the inside fo your mouth at the time the orgasm occurs and the virus is able to enter your blood stream thru the open wound.

one STD which can be transferred through oral sex is chlamidia...ive heard more about that than aids...what was said about the cuts is very important.

Almost impossible to contract Aids through oral sex....however that does not mean it cannot be done. The mucus membranes (mouth, inside nose, around eyes) are all capable of being infected. It has been related to open sores or cuts as stated above. Just as Aids infection through anal sex is usually transmitted due to anal tearing and bleeding. Aids is not a very hearty virus so it needs to get to the blood stream quickly to be transmitted. This all said: don't risk it.

the CDC used to classify oral sex as "Low Risk".

Within the last year or two they raised it to "Medium Risk" (or whatever the 'official' classification is).

It's not considered "High Risk" like unprotected anal sex, but they obviously had their reasons to re-evaluate it.
