What has happened to all the good PT's in the world ? I just finished my 3rd rehab session tonight, and each time I am further disappointed by the lack of knowledge, skill and care offered by these supposed experts. Maybe I'm the stupid one but would you think that the excersises for a pec rehab and a rotator cuff / shoulder would be the same ? Are there any PT's on the board ?

On to the shallow side of me, I have never in my life seen such out of shape people in my life. There is not a single well conditioned, semi athletic trainer at my rehab center. Let's all ban together and set some minimal acceptable standards for these ladies. Can't the appropriate organizations set super model standards up for guys like me ? If I have to sit there and do these meaningless excersises, shouldn't I be entitled to spend my time with someone like Trish ?

I tell you, its a sad, sad world out there !

You're doing pec and rotator cuff exercises together because every pec exercise you do is putting strain on your rotator cuff. It's actually the correct way to rehab the area. What are your rehabing, pec or cuff?

I totally agree with you man; every place I've been too has the worst trainers that are in horrible shape. I mean would you really like to look like some of these people? I thought not. They should all be Cory Everson or Arnold look-a-likes. I also think that most of these people shouldn't get their certificates from Cracker Jack boxes.

In a world of starving people it should be illegal to be fat....

I go to a serious BB gym a lot of the people there are competitive but I agree with you. Even the PT's at my gym look like shit. Most of the people they are training look better than they do. Let's here it for the rich fat ass bastards who pay these over hill wasted PT's

After my elbow surgery to remove some tendon scar tissue, about the only thing my trainer was good for was reigning me in. He even acknowledged that there was nothing he could tell me or show me that I didn't already know.

Now both my Pt's are in shape one girl and one guy. But on the whole I agree with everyone, most "exoperts" on diets, training , etc are fat ass freaks!

What can we expect anyway, when our own gov't has been pushing the same diet on us that is used to fatten pigs before the slaughter. These animals are fed a high carb, low fat, mediocre protein diet, same crap our own gov't has blessed and pushed for 20-30 years. Hasn't anyone ever wondered why we have the fattest people in society? And not only that they are the laziest buch of freaks I have ever seen. I may be letting my bias out being a Marine and a bodybuilder, but shit, it only takes 60 minutes 3-4 days a week and moderation with the proper nutrient balance to not be puking fat. Hell, I eat double 1/4 pounders with cheese and fries and I am still competeing at 35.

Oh well my bitch for the day.

Oh Shit... I'm not even going to go off on this topic. My blood pressure can't take it. Strained my back a while back and, well, lets just say they were/are the most incompetent "professionals" I've ever had the displeasure to work with.

Hey BPP,
I am in the group. You are correct and dont expect too much. You will be dissappointed many therapists are pretty much a joke and could give them a paper to follow and send them home with it and never see them again and get the same results. Most of them also are experts on strength training in which i am very amused by their rationale of programs, rep ranges, and form. Its just like that the average bodybuilder know more about anabolics than most doctors do. I know its frustrating, but a degree doesnt mean everything except you are getting paid well for what you do.

A quick word on why most trainers look so mediocre:

I'm a trainer in Atlanta, and first let me say that I agree that many trainers are out of shape and without knowledge. That pisses me off, but I have noticed something:

My clients are regulars, people I have worked with for months and in some cases years. Because I am 6' 2" and 250 lean pounds, most new members do not want to sign up with me. (These are often the same people who cry "juice" as if there is a maigc pill I can take that allows me to look this way without training or diet)

I get new clients pretty much by word of mouth advertising only.

New members would rather sign up with average looking trainers - they are easier to relate to. The member/client won't feel as intimdated or pressured....anyway it's that whole "insecurity" thing....

And despite this, guess who the other trainers come to with questions.....well, that would be me.

But as was said before, bodybuilders are the fringe element, not mainstream...sad as it is, average looking trainers are making money, from average sized clients.

Just a thought

Matt
