: : : : : In my quest to understand more about proteins and which are best, I came across some interesting
: : : : : info. Most of you probably haven't heard of it, but the newest and best way to measure the
: : : : : quality of a protein is the PDCAAS--Protein Digestability Corrected Amino Acid Scale. Whey is
: : : : : the best protein right? Not necessarily! Most of us have heard that a whey ISOLATE is best
: : : : : and yes it is a very good protein but what I found out today is that a soy isolate is just as
: : : : : good or even better. On the PDCAAS soy scores a 1 which is the highest rating. Furthermore,
: : : : : I inquired about the fact that whey has a great deal of BCAAs and glutamine. Guess what?
: : : : : soy has higher amounts of both of these. Scammed again! An instantized soy isolate that
: : : : : dissolves instantly and is very bland goes for about a fourth of what a whey isolate goes for.
: : : : : The WPC that most of you are using is considered a highly INFERIOR protein source. In fact, now
: : : : : that I know this I am not going to offer a WPC! Soy IMPROVES kidney function unlike any other
: : : : : protein, it raises HDL (good) and lowers LDL (bad) cholesterol. It is anti-carcinogenic, etc, etc.
: : : : : I believe as time goes on you will start to hear more and more about soy protein. I need some
: : : : : feedback. I think the best way to go is mix 50/50 an instantized whey ISOLATE and an intantized
: : : : : soy isolate. Whey has a few benefits that soy doesn't offer and this you get the best of both
: : : : : worlds and at a price that can't be beat. This combo would probably sell for about $5.00 per pound.
: : : : : I know that what I'm saying here goes against everything that you've been told but believe me here--
: : : : : I've done my research. If the above mixture is not suitable with everyone then I could offer a
: : : : : whey protein isolate AND a soy isolate and you can choose. However, just carrying the mixture
: : : : : is easier for me and better for you. Think about it and let me know.
: : : : : Keep up the fight
: : : : : Unique

: : : : Sounds good to me if your research is correct and it would be nice to know the sources. However, soy products generally have an estrogenic side effect to them as well. If they isolate this out it would be great if everything else holds.

: : : SOY IS ACTUALLY ANTI-ESTROGENIC, AS IT IS A FLAVONE COMPOUND
: : : AN CONTAINS GENESTIN SP?, AND THAT IS WHY MANY BREAST CANCER
: : : PATIENTS ARE RECOMMENDED TO CONSUME A VERY HIGH SOY
: : : PROTEIN DIET.......TRUST ME ON THIS ONE THEIR IS A LOT OF
: : : RESEARCH ON SOY AND BREAST CANCER.
: : I agree on the fact that it may have anti-breast cancer benefits but that may be just from the flavones and only for women. In a processed product one or the other may not make it into the final product. Many plant products, like wheat and beer, exhibit ESTROGENIC effects and this may be more than the benefit from the isoflavones in the soy. What holds for breast cells in women may not hold true systemically for everyone else! Anarchy in the USA!

: Actually, w8lifter is correct I believe. Some compounds in soy products do bind to the estrogen receptors, but a theory being argued on MFW is that soy may act as a sort of weak Nolvadex.

: Mike

Ok so we both may be right. And if I could read the research I'd be thoroughly convinced because if it is anti-estrogenic in all cells then I'm all for it. The amount of estrogenic effect is probably negligable no matter which way the research goes and as most of us have not stopped drinking beer or alcohol because of estrogenic effects it won't matter if we can save money. I'd love to not have to send so much money away for the whey. That's more for Juice! Anarchy in the USA!
